    Price

    1,500 THB

Includes history taking, a safety assessment, point planning, sterile single-use needles (about 30–45 minutes in total) and aftercare advice.

    What is acupuncture?

Acupuncture is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) technique in which very fine, sterile needles are placed at specific points on the body. The points are chosen after the practitioner has assessed your symptoms and general health.

At HanFang Clinic every session starts with a conversation and an assessment by the doctor who owns the clinic, so the plan is based on you rather than a fixed routine.

    What acupuncture may help with

Acupuncture should not be seen as a treatment for every condition. Current evidence is strongest for some types of pain. For other concerns it is used as supportive care alongside your usual medical treatment, after an individual assessment.

    • Some types of pain, such as neck, shoulder and back pain, knee pain, migraine and tension-type headaches
    • Muscle tightness from desk work (often called office syndrome)
    • Supportive care for concerns such as sleep problems, allergies or stress, together with your main treatment
    • Results vary from person to person and depend on the cause, how long you have had the problem and your overall health

    What happens at your visit

    • History and assessment: your main concern, where it hurts and for how long, existing conditions, medicines, pregnancy and any warning signs
    • The doctor explains the suggested approach and its cost before starting
    • Acupuncture with sterile, single-use needles — the whole visit usually takes about 30–45 minutes
    • Aftercare advice, and a review of how you responded at the next visit

    Does acupuncture hurt?

Most people feel a brief prick, then a dull ache, pressure, heaviness or warmth around the needle. In Chinese medicine this sensation is called “de qi”. It should stay at a level you are comfortable with — tell the doctor straight away if it is very painful or if you feel dizzy or unwell.

    Who should take extra care

Please tell the doctor before treatment if any of these apply to you:

    • You are pregnant or might be pregnant
    • You take blood thinners or bruise or bleed easily
    • You have a pacemaker (electro-acupuncture may not be suitable)
    • You have a fever, an infection or broken skin in the treatment area
    • You have a serious or long-term condition such as heart disease, diabetes or cancer

    After acupuncture

For the first 24 hours, rest, drink warm water and avoid heavy exercise, alcohol, very cold showers and strong massage on the treated area. Mild soreness, warmth or a small bruise can happen and usually settles on its own. Contact the clinic or see a doctor if you have severe pain, fainting, palpitations, numbness or weakness.

    Frequently asked questions

    How much does acupuncture cost?

Acupuncture at HanFang Clinic is 1,500 THB per session. It includes your history, safety assessment, point planning, sterile single-use needles and aftercare advice. If cupping or herbal medicine would also help, the doctor will explain why and the cost before adding it.

How many sessions will I need?

Some people feel lighter or move more easily after the first session, but many concerns need a series of sessions with regular review. Mayo Clinic describes a typical plan for some conditions as 1–2 sessions a week for about 6–8 sessions. Your actual number depends on your assessment and how you respond.

Can acupuncture replace my regular medical treatment?

No. For conditions that need monitoring or regular medicine, such as high blood pressure, diabetes, heart disease or cancer, acupuncture is supportive care only. Please don't stop or change prescribed medicine on your own, and bring a list of your medicines to your visit.

How should I prepare for my first session?

Sleep well, have a light meal beforehand rather than arriving very hungry, wear clothes that give easy access to the treatment area, and bring details of your conditions, medicines, allergies or pregnancy.

Do I need to book ahead?

We recommend booking at least 1 day ahead so there is enough time for a full assessment. Message LINE @hanfang or call 065-6988-929.

    Where is the clinic?

HanFang Clinic is at Block 28X, Soi Chula 5, Samyan – Banthat Thong, Pathum Wan, Bangkok, near MRT Sam Yan Exit 2. Open 10:00–20:00, closed on Wednesdays. Parking is available in the building (2 hours free with a stamp).

Results vary from person to person. Our care is supportive and does not replace diagnosis or treatment by your medical doctor — please don't stop or change any prescribed medicine on your own. In an emergency call 1669 or go to the nearest hospital.
